Where things stand right now.

A small charity run by volunteers changes week to week. This is the page we keep current: opening hours, what the shelter animals need most at the moment, and anything that would waste your trip if you did not know it.

Everything here feeds one thing — the veterinary bill at the Blytheville Humane Society.

Open six days a week, 8 to 5

The store is open Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and closed Sunday. Donations come in on a shorter schedule — Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, before 2 PM — so that there are volunteers free to take them in and sort them.

Volunteers wanted, any hours you have

Everything here is run by volunteers: sorting, pricing, hanging clothes, working the register, shifting furniture. A few hours a week keeps the doors open. Call the store and ask for Pam.

We moved to 510 North Broadway

The store moved into the former MCEC building, which gave us room to take furniture again and space to lay out a proper sales floor instead of stacking donations in a back room.

Standing needs

Things we are always short of.

These do not change much, so they do not get their own dated entry — but if you are clearing out and wondering what is genuinely useful, start here.

For the sales floor

  • Furniture in usable shape — it sells fastest and funds the most
  • Working small appliances
  • Children’s clothing and shoes
  • Winter coats, every autumn
  • Tools and yard equipment

Straight to the kennels

  • Worn bath towels and hand towels
  • Blankets and sheets too rough to sell
  • Unopened pet food
  • Crates, carriers, bowls, leashes

Tell the volunteer at the door which pile something is for. Worn linens never reach the sales floor — they go to the shelter, where they are used up faster than anything we sell.

Keeping up

How to hear about things sooner.

We do not run a mailing list. The store phone is the fastest way to find out whether we have what you are after, or whether we can take what you are bringing.
